What is Push-to-Talk over Cellular?
Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) is the method of using mobile devices similar to two-way radios or walkie talkies. It offers coverage far beyond the reach of existing land mobile radio (LMR/PMR/DMR) networks. Furthermore, PoC applications support many of the same features as digital radios (group calls, GPS location, messaging, emergency notifications, etc.).
However, there are several important reasons agencies may want to maintain radio communications even after implementing a PoC solution. These include avoiding recurring fees, providing intrinsically safe devices, and relying on a communications network more capable of surviving infrastructure damage. Therefore, integrating both systems provides enhanced coverage, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
JPS - NXU-2B GATEWAY
JPS arguably created and invented the POC gateway, in fact one of the most common poc gateway system languages is "JPS". When it comes to super clear audio for POC to DMR/PMR and DMR/PMR to POC communications the NXU-2B is simply superb, no other gateway is as easy to set up, easy to work with and so very - very reliable.

JPS - RSP-Z2 GATEWAY
JPS radio gateways, such as the RSP-Z2, NXU-2B provide a seamless bridging interface between PMR/LMR systems and many modern PoC solutions, including FirstNet Certified® JPS VIA as well as AT&T Enhanced PTT, ESChat, TASSTA, Motorola WAVE, TangoTango, Verizon PTT Plus, Zebra Workforce Connect, and Zello.
Offering a substantial amount of flexibility, JPS gateways support any requirement from 1:1 standalone applications to regional and national solutions. POC and PMR/LMR each have unique benefits. JPS gateways give customers the necessary tools to make the best use of both communication technologies. These gateways are already deployed in UK Airports, docks, Council operations, Blue chip manufacturing and larger POC/PTToC communications systems where combining multiple communication technologies gives huge operational efficiencies, increased productivity and additional critical safety and security.
JPS- Z SERIES CONTROLLER
Build and manage wide area, distributed systems with the Z-Series Controller™. Use it to share audio with all JPS RoIP products, such as the NXU-2B, ACU-M, or ACU-Z1. For even more versatility and robust distributed system scalability, utilize it with RSP-Z2 gateways to unlock the benefits of JPS Unity, available on these two Z-Series products.
JPS Unity-capable systems provide clean, on-demand audio routing and connectivity by modernizing and facilitating wide area interoperability system setup and management through automatically created JPS Talkpaths. Features like TCP box-to-box messaging improve overall performance on congested, wireless, or unreliable networks.
Unity aside, capabilities like simplified, multi-user dispatch, monitoring by non-dispatch resources, and resources for streaming to an RTP or SIP recorder give the Z-Series Controller broad appeal.
JPS - ACU - Z1
The ACU-Z1™ combines modern technology with JPS’ two decades of experience as the industry leader in communications interoperability. Modular, 2U high, fully IP centric, and loaded with the capable radio interface features you have come to expect from JPS, the ACU-Z1 can interface just about every type of voice communication.
The modern user interface, along with the convenient local handset, twelve plug-in modules for local connections, and up to 24 virtual IP-based resources make it easy for the operator to create and disband communication nets, monitor resources, record nets, and perform light dispatch operations.
True IP-Centric Gateway
The ACU-Z1’s intuitive browser-based GUI allows an operator to expand or minimize the dispatch and monitor areas. Operators can employ these dedicated zones to create mini-dispatch stations for on-the-fly one-way or two-way communications. Since any configured resource can be designated as the dispatcher by the operator, the system provides a high level of flexibility,
Separate from dispatch, monitor nets provide another unique feature. Any resource configured on the system can be designated a monitor and can listen to audio from any number of other resources on the system.
